Rudolf Schwaiger

1924 · Vienna – 1979

Sculptor

Rudolf Schwaiger was an Austrian sculptor and was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. From 1946 he was one of the first students of Fritz Wotruba, one of the most important Austrian sculptors of the 20th century. His sculptures in bronze and wood - mostly female figures - often have an element of sensuality in them, despite their massive and complicated appearance.
