About Kunstiek
Art dealership specializing in Dutch and Belgian 19th- and 20th-century art
My name is Bart Knoester, founder of Kunstiek.
With my company Kunstiek, an art dealership, I specialize in paintings, watercolors, gouache paintings, drawings and sculptures from the 19th and 20th century.
From a young age I was surrounded by art, because my parents founded art dealership Knoester in The Hague years ago. They specialized in the New Hague School, the group of painters and sculptors active in the 1950s and 1960s around Verve and Fugare.
In addition to their work as art dealers, my parents wrote the book De Nieuwe Haagse School, with contributions by Jan Cremer and Gerard Verdijk, and interviews with artists such as Kees Andréa, Herman Berserik, Harry Disberg, Hans de Jong and Jan Roëde.
From them I inherited my love for art. It is an addiction, but one I cherish. My interest is broad and not tied to a single movement. At Kunstiek I buy and sell art that I find beautiful and meaningful, regardless of style.
What I Do
Purchase and sale of paintings, watercolours, gouaches, drawings and sculptures, with a focus on Dutch post-war art.

Why Art
Art broadens perspective, inspires curiosity and enriches life. It plays an essential role in both society and history. My mission is to bring together beautiful works and objects, and to help people discover art and antiques that truly resonate.
