Joop Linschooten

1909 · Leiden – 1995 · The Hague

Painter

Joop Linschooten was born in Leiden in 1909 and lived and worked in The Hague after 1934. There he was inspired by the work of post-war painters from The Hague such as Jan van Heel. Linschooten preferred to paint varied still lifes with a palette knife, which have a lively character due to their striking use of color.
