Shipping & delivery

How is the artwork shipped?

Within the Netherlands, we ship artworks by registered and insured delivery with PostNL.

International shipping is also available. We generally use DHL or a comparable carrier. Shipping costs depend on the size and weight of the artwork and the destination country. Please feel free to contact us for a shipping quote.
For shipments outside the EU, import duties, import VAT, customs charges or other local taxes may apply. Any such charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

Is the artwork insured during shipping?

Yes. Within the Netherlands, we ship artworks by registered and insured delivery, so your purchase is protected as well as possible during transport. For international shipments, we agree the shipping method and insurance with you in advance.

Can I have my purchase delivered by professional art courier?

Yes. If you prefer, you can arrange a specialised art courier yourself and schedule collection and delivery of the artwork. We have had good experiences with Easy2Send, but you are of course free to choose another art courier.

Payment & VAT

How can I pay?

You can pay by bank transfer, iDEAL (WERO) or, where applicable, in cash upon collection or delivery.

Why is VAT not shown on the website or my invoice?

Eligible artworks are sold under the special VAT margin scheme for works of art. The listed price is the total price for the artwork; no additional VAT will be added.

When the margin scheme applies, VAT is not shown separately on the invoice. The invoice will state: “Special scheme – works of art.”

Returns

Can I return an artwork?

Yes. You can notify us within 14 days of receiving your purchase that you wish to withdraw from the purchase. You then have 14 days to return the artwork.

The artwork must be returned with care and in the same condition in which you received it. Any reduction in value resulting from damage or handling beyond what is necessary to assess the artwork may be deducted. The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

Selling your artwork

Do you buy artworks?

Yes, we regularly buy artworks. If you have an artwork you would like to sell, please send us a few clear photographs, the name of the artist, the dimensions and any additional information.

Based on this information, we can assess whether the work may be of interest to us and contact you to discuss the possibilities.
