André Verhorst

André Verhorst started as a teacher and took evening classes at the Art Academy for Visual Arts in Rotterdam. In 1918 he became a teacher at the Royal School in Den Bosch. André Verhorst painted, watercoloured and drew (children's) portraits, landscapes in impressionistic style. In addition to being a painter, Verhorst was also a medallist and lithographer. He was a pupil of Huib Luns, among others.

André Verhorst, born in Rotterdam, is inextricably linked to Den Bosch, where he headed the art department of the Royal School for Art, Technology and Crafts from 1922 onwards.
