Considering Selling an Artwork?
Are you considering selling a painting, sculpture, or other artwork? I am interested in distinctive works and invite you to get in touch without obligation. Kunstiek specialises in original and signed works by Dutch and Belgian artists from the 19th and 20th centuries.
In many cases, I purchase works directly. When consignment is more appropriate, I carefully manage the sale and position the work strategically within the market and among my network of collectors.
I buy and broker paintings, watercolours, drawings, prints, and bronze sculptures. For an initial assessment, I kindly ask you to provide clear photographs of the front and back of the work, including the signature, along with any available information about provenance and history.

Purchase, consignment or advice
After receiving the information, I will let you know whether the work fits within Kunstiek’s area of interest and collection. If a direct purchase may be possible, I will also assess whether your asking price is workable for Kunstiek. If consignment seems more suitable, I will be happy to discuss the options with you. If neither is appropriate, I may be able to advise you on an alternative way to sell the work.
Quality
I work selectively and assess each artwork based on the artist, quality, condition, and current market demand. How well the work fits my collection also plays a role.
Sell Directly or Through Consignment
If a direct purchase is suitable and your price expectation is in line with what is workable for Kunstiek, I will be happy to discuss the purchase with you. Once an agreement has been reached, Kunstiek purchases the work directly from you and the sale is completed. I then take care of the presentation, positioning and subsequent sale of the artwork.
If consignment is more suitable, you remain the owner of the artwork until it is sold. We agree in advance on the asking price, your proceeds, Kunstiek’s commission and the duration of the consignment period. Kunstiek then takes care of the presentation, promotion, communication with potential buyers and the completion of the sale.
All arrangements are recorded in a clear agreement. Consignment is offered on a no cure, no pay basis: commission is only charged upon successful sale.

If I am interested, I would be pleased to discuss the work with you personally. When we reach an agreement, we will arrange a viewing appointment.
All information is handled with discretion and care. If a work does not fall within my area of interest, I will explain this clearly and, if desired, advise you on alternative selling options.
