About this painting
A nice abstract work by Dutch painter Roel Frankot. Metamorfose (Metamorphosis) from 1967 shows Frankot's characteristic expressive style in which abstraction and figuration come together.
Frankot was fascinated by transformation and change, which is perfectly expressed in this composition. The title "Metamorphosis" refers to the continuous transformation of forms and colors in the work. His paintings have a strong affinity with the work of Cobra artists, with a spontaneous, expressive approach and a focus on emotion over realism. The painting is in good condition. Literature: With book "Roelof Frankot - paintings and drawings 1911-1984", Drents Museum Assen, 1990.
